THE CAPTAIN & THE VESSEL

Captain Christian Pebbles is a seasoned mariner holding a Merchant Mariners Credential from the U.S. Coast Guard National Maritime Center. Raised on California’s rugged North Coast, Christian grew up fishing, diving, and exploring the ocean, developing a deep connection with the sea.

He believes the ocean has the power to calm the mind, body, and spirit, and his mission is simple: to share the wonders of ocean life with every guest. Since 2008, Captain Christian has been expertly navigating the waters of Bodega Bay, combining years of experience with a true passion for the sea.

The Fillet and Release is an offshore 27-foot Boston Whaler, fully US Coast Guard inspected for your safety. It’s the only full walk-around vessel among Bodega Bay’s six-passenger whale-watching boats—meaning you can move freely and get up close at the bow, for an unmatched visual and auditory experience.

With its wide, stable beam, this legendary “unsinkable” Boston Whaler makes it easy to enjoy whales, dolphins, sea lions, harbor seals, and an incredible array of seabirds, all while taking in the stunning Marin and Sonoma coastline. Adventure, comfort, and unforgettable wildlife encounters—all in one boat.
